We have pleasure of informing you, that 17th FAI World Rally Flying Championship 2010 will be held under the auspices of the President of the Slovak Republic Mr. Ivan GAŠPAROVIČ.

Here is a short address for the 17^th FAI World Rally Flying Championship 2010 (July – August 2010 – Dubnica nad Váhom)

Dear participants of the 17^th FAI World Rally Flying Championship 2010,

         For the first time, Slovakia becomes host of the top world flyers in the sports motor flying in aerial navigation and I consider it as acknowledgement of our pilots, navigators and organisers, who are increasingly successful in this demanding sports field. At the same time, it is excellent occasion to present our motherland as hospitable country, where we are capable of preparation of the most complicated sports events. No doubt that especially this championship belongs to such events as it concerns not only a lot of competitors, their aircraft or the airport itself, but also a great part of our territory over which the competition will take place. In aviation, the accuracy and preciseness are the basic principles of safe aviation and to have good pilots and navigators is a treasure for any country. It is namely in this sport where you can earn a lot of knowledge and experience which some of active sport flying fans can surely use in their professional life too. I am glad that our skilled pilots will have the opportunity to face the world’s best in a familiar environment and I believe that they will stand their ground honourably.

         I would also like to underline the work done by organisers, in particular members of Aero-Club Dubnica nad Váhom, but also other organisations including the local self-administration, which co-operated both in order to perfectly prepare everything and to assure that competitors, their realisation teams, referees and all international guests feel in our country comfortable. I am convinced that everything will be prepared at a really top level, be it flying routes, airfield itself and other technical matters, but also care of participants in the championship, because the opportunity to give publicity to our country at this level is rare and I believe that we are able to fully utilise it. 

         I am keeping my fingers crossed for competitors, naturally a little bit more for the ours, but also for all those, who prepared the championship so that everything comes out as expected and this 17^th World Rally Flying Championship becomes a demonstration of mastership not only of participating crews but also of our Slovak organisers.
